What we do
Berkeley Plumbing Services is a local plumbing line for Berkeley homeowners, landlords and tenants. When you call (510) 822-3070, a person answers, works out what’s going on and how urgent it is, and connects you with an independent, licensed plumbing contractor who serves Berkeley.
This website exists to answer the questions Berkeley owners actually have, like how the City’s sewer lateral certificate works, what the Bay Area water heater rule means, and when an old galvanized house really needs a repipe, with sources you can check.
How this service works
Plain disclosure: Berkeley Plumbing Services connects callers with independent, licensed plumbing contractors. We don’t charge you for the call or the connection; contractors pay us for the calls we connect. The contractor who does your work sets the price, gives you the written estimate, pulls the permits and stands behind the work. Ask for their license number and check it at cslb.ca.gov.
Our promises
- A person answers, 24/7. Nights, weekends and holidays.
- A written estimate before work starts. With options where there are options.
- Honest triage. If it can wait until morning, or a handyman could do it, you’ll hear that.
- Licensed contractors only. California C-36 plumbing contractors, or the right specialty license for the job.
- Permits pulled. For water heaters, repipes, gas and sewer work, as the City requires.
- Respect for old houses. Plaster, tile, hardwood and trees are protected and worked around.
What you won’t find here
- Made-up reviews or testimonials
- Invented license numbers, addresses or team photos
- Prices presented as quotes when they’re reported ranges
Every factual claim on this site links to its source, and pages carry the date they were last reviewed.
